The Canada Pork team recently completed development of a new corporate logo. The logo has been registered for the Canadian marketplace and is protected by the trademark application process
“The new corporate logo represents the programs and services the national pork marketing initiative and the Canada Pork team brings to the table,” says Michael Young, VP Technical Programs and Marking Services Canada Pork International. “In addition to identifying programs and services, the logo will be used to brand trade communications and technical marketing materials”
The Canada Pork team has also completed development of two versions of the Canadian Pork quality brand mark – a bilingual and an English-only version. These brand marks, also protected by the trademark application process, were created for use with consumers. Canada Pork is already working with retail clients across Canada to implement the Verified Canadian Pork branding strategy.
“The new Canadian pork brand is based on a foundation of national farm-to-table quality and safety assurance systems that differentiate Canadian pork in the marketplace,” says Derrick Ash, Director, National Marketing Canada Pork. “Our competitors simply don’t offer this kind of value, quality and safety assurance.”
Use of the brand mark will be based on a licensing agreement between Canada Pork and eligible retail and foodservice customers working with national pork marketing supply partners to verify the integrity of the brand promise.
The Canada pork team is also developing consumer marketing POS (point-of- sale) materials to support the attributes of the brand at the meat case and on the menu.
