![]() Dear members and colleagues, The upcoming CPI Board of Directors and Annual Meeting will be my last meeting as a Director of Canada Pork International. I’ve had the honour of serving as a CPI Director since 1994 and as Chairman for the past eight years. I especially want to thank the Canadian pork industry as well as my colleagues for allowing me to serve, providing me the opportunity to contribute to the expansion of Canadian pork exports around the world. I am very proud that CPI has evolved to become a credible and well-recognized organization. I also want to thank the CPI employees I’ve worked with for their commitment and hard work in developing new opportunities for Canadian pork abroad and in resolving market access issues. During my tenure, I witnessed firsthand the highs and lows that the Canadian pork industry experienced over those years. I truly believe that the industry is in better shape today and able to face any future issues with a strong Canada Pork International organization supporting it. I am also honored to have had the opportunity to expand the CPI mandate to include the national marketing strategy development. I wish every success to the new Board of Directors and especially to my successor; there are many export challenges to be addressed in both the short and the long term. Finally, I look forward to meeting with all of you at the next CPI Annual Meeting on February 12, 2015 to thank you for your support and personally express my appreciation. I sincerely hope our paths will cross again. Edouard Asnong Back to main page › |
