Eight CPI member companies exhibited with CPI at Food & Hotel Asia 2016, a trade show held April 12-15 in Singapore.
This event takes place every two years, providing CPI members the opportunity to reconnect with contacts in the marketplace.
The High Commission of Canada in Singapore organized a Canadian networking reception which took place during the show. Over 200 guests including buyers, importers, distributors, retailers and end users from Singapore and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) attended the event along with Canadian Trade Commissioners from ASEAN, Australia and Sri Lanka.
CPI has identified Singapore as a high-end market with immediate potential for exports of chilled pork and value-added items. CPI and its members are currently working to improve market access conditions for these items and to further expand Canada’s market share.
Canadian pork exports to Singapore reached 4,485 tonnes in 2015 valued at more than 11 million dollars.
